Talking Turkey

I was really surprised the other day when a wild turkey flew into our backyard briefly.
It looked similar to the one shown below

Apparently the eastern wild turkey can be found in the semi-wild Ottawa area.
Contrary to rumors they actually can fly over a fence or two.

Oddly wild turkeys are present in Radium B.C. also. We were in Radium for Thanksgiving one year and enjoyed it. Caused quite a controversy when Laura put two and two together and figured out that the turkey on the table for thanksgiving was once a live animal. I guess thats what growing up is all about.
